If I could just chime in. 'Hello Ladies' is legitimately funny and the best comedy HBO has had on in a very long time. And I can assure you I have impeccable taste.

I'll Keep my comment short, because after reading the above review, quite frankly – I'm bored. Hello Ladies is brilliant and pulls away from anything Merchant has ever done in the past. Watch it and you will see.

Also, Kev, you should never write another film review again. Your efforts are amateur.
Must try harder.

Your review couldn't be more wrong. It's way better than anything Gervais as ever done. He is a comic genius. The Office UK is widely overrated anyway, just depressing. The US version is so much better. David Brent was not relatable at all and just a cringe to watch. I watched this yesterday and it was hilarious throughout. And Merchant was the best part of I Give It A Year which otherwise was a horrible movie.

If his humor is anything like his obnoxious sh*thead character in "I Give It a Year" (which I assume it is, it seems like that's his shtick), holy shit, burn him. I wanted to kill that character.

I have no doubt that this series could be awful, but this is a typically baffling and misguided Playlist review filled with flawed logic: "while much of the comedy from "The Office" and "Extras" relied on David Brent and Andy Millman falling into one cringeworthy situation after another, both of those flawed and at times deeply unlikeable characters had a relatable core to them, of men still striving towards some kind of ambition or dream, no matter how misguided. And it's that element, at least in the first two episodes sent to press, that's crucially absent in "Hello Ladies."" You can't relate to romance, sex or loneliness? Most people don't think about these things? Bullshit. Moreover, the suggestion that if someone is successful and enterprising in business, then they must have adequate social qualities suggests an extreme ignorance and naivety on your part.
