Up may sneak in there but I could also see it being left out. There really isn't the same amount of buzz surrounding it as Walle last year.

So? Just cause they got it wrong doesn't mean i have to follow the heard.

Maybe the girl, maaaybe. And yes, trailer looks silly. But they don't know anything more than I do. We're all just pre-speculating and won't know its chances until we see it.

Every other awards site is listing The Lovely Bones as a contender. Why are you still holding out? The trailer? What was wrong with it? Stanley Tucci might be able to sneak a supporting nod.

You have to remember that "Pulp Fiction" was during the era when indie film, even more than now, was challenging the mainstream Hollywood system. Now, the studios have all gotten wise and launched their own "indie" arms blurring the line considerably. The Academy more than likely wanted to seem current to the changing cinematic landscape.

Also, being repped by Harvey probably didn't hurt it either. He was fairly unstoppable back then.

It good solid reviews (better than it deserve, but whatever), made a very good chunk of change (mainstream, all the academy voters prolly already saw) and then TWC will mount a crazy DVD promo campaign.

def has a good shot in a year of 10.

Basterds does not seem like the kind of movie to be popular among the Academy. Personally, I'd be surprised if it got a nom, but with 10 of them being handed out it's possible.

Also, I'm a little iffy on the odds for A Single Man and Illiterate, Obese Girl: From The Book Passion By Cinammaron, or whatever its called.
