Lynch didn’t “undo” the mystery of who killed Laura Palmer in the S2 finale and has never said anything about S3 re-opening the case into her killer’s identity. I mean, come on, Fire Walk With Me doubles down on that to an inarguable degree and Lynch has repeatedly said that FWWM is key preparation for the new season. Additionally, you make so much of the fact that Lynch insisted on shooting the new series on celluloid and that this was in fact part of the budget negotiations with Showtime, when that is just utterly false in every regard! The new series is shot on digital!!! Anyone can see this by just, you know, looking at the quality of the image, but even a cursory Google search reveals Lynch’s word on the subject of whether he would shoot Twin Peaks on film again: “No, no, no. It would be ridiculous. It’s all gonna end up on TV anyway. So many things get lost from celluloid to the final… whatever you’re showing on.” Disappointing to hear you guys speak with such authority on subjects that clearly haven’t been researched well enough.
