Honestly? Kill Bill? ... half of the soundtrack is not worth the time spend listening to it.
"The assassination of Jesse James" by Nick Cave (2007) would have been a real contender as "Amelie" (2001) by Yann Tiersen, "In the mood for love" (2000) Or "Requiem for a dream" (2000).

And that is for the soundtracks that are not only compilation of track of one genre like "Cadillac Recor" (Rythm and Blues), "The Pianist" (Piano Concerto – Chopin), "Taking Woodstock", "the boat that rocked" (Rock and Roll), "Fallout3 – the score" (50s american pop) or "the Wakness" (90s Hip hop). And as for a score for a Sophia Scorcese film … "Virgin Suicide" if any really.

Kudos on a nice list. The Squid and Whale would top mine, for sure ("Street Hassle" = Perfect).

I remember being obsessed with the Kevin Shields remix of "I Want Candy" for a few months after that Marie Antoinette soundtrack was released. I'm not totally sure why, but I still love it.
