so glad to see that The Fountain was on there (although i would have ranked it higher). By far the most in-synced score to a movie for me.

although i know its not from this past decade, but a close second for me is Michael Nyman's score to Gattaca.

I'm an especially big fan of guitar-driven ambient music, so I must mention Michael Brook's stunning score for "An Inconvenient Truth," as well as Mychael and Jeff Danna's music for "Lakeview Terrace." If you can find the score to "Levity," by Mark Oliver Everett (of Eels fame), it's nice somber listening. Lastly, David Holmes put together some nice guitar-centric soundscapes for the sci-fi film "Code 46."

Also worth noting is Bill Frisell's score for the indie "All Hat." Very Americana-inspired, even though I think it's a Canadian film. Oh, and Richard Thompson's work on the "Grizzly Man" score is stunningly twangy and evocative.
