Despite a very underwhelming North American haul ($25 million), "Piranha 3D" did well enough globally ($83 million) to justify a sequel in the eyes of The Weinstein Company. Due June 1st, "Piranha 3DD" now has a soundtrack to accompany it. Scheduled for a May 29th digital release, the 17-track soundtrack features Bay Area "indietronica" band The Limousines, anthemic pop band All The Right Moves, radio-friendly rockers Amber Pacific and to be honest, a whole bunch of bands we've never heard of. A score album by Elia Camiral from Lakeshore Records can be pre-ordered on Amazon as well, if that floats your boat.
"Piranha 3DD" stars Katrina Bowden, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, Gary Busey, David Koechner, David Hasselhoff, Paul Scheer and several cornfed actresses and models who will who will surely meet a gruesome demise. Early contender for worst film of the year? Hey, who said that!
