As a huge fan of the book, and PTA being my favorite filmmaker, I couldn't be more excited. I'm really interested to see the intense change in material for both PTA and Joaquin. Inherent Vice is definitely more in line with Boogie Nights than most of his other work, and has the potential to be possibly his most purely entertaining film. It's really hilarious.

The Master should have ruined his career. Talk about a disaster. Also everybody in town knows the script is terrible which is why he cant get any other big name actors and why Downey passed.

I hope that this will be a more interesting film to watch then The Master was which was a bore. I hope it harks back to the style of movies he made with Boggie Nights, Punch Drunk Love & Magnolia.

Can't wait to hear about casting.. So many great characters to cast (even though some will be cut). Probably a lot of unknowns among since you don't wanna detract too much away from Sportello.

BTW coincidence that Joaquin Phoenix, Vince Vaughn and Robert Pattinson have been seen hanging a lot lately?
