I was kind of “meh” about seeing Bridge of Spies. It turned out to be one of my favorite movies that year.

PTA is a genius. Not that Spielberg needs it, but coming from a talent in his own right, such a compliment must feel good even to the Filmmaker Of A Generation (a title he still shares with Marty).

It’s pretty damn good. Has some on-the-nose, overwrought Speilbergian moments here and there, but when it comes these historical dramas I’ll take Spielberg over pretty much everyone. Gotta appreciate a master while he’s still around.
