LVT isn't a pleasant human being it seems. Being a filmmaker or any kind artist doesn't give people license to behave that uncaring. Having seen LVT's work, I have no idea how the man is held with such high regard. It seems like he purposely makes sh** and dares critics and audiences to project some kind of profound meaning in it. And critics and some cinema-goers do. It's some kind of cinematic placebo effect.

That's really interesting but I'm left wondering why respected actors seem to love working with LVT and how he gets such great performances out of them, even Bettany was great in Dogville.

Ha, 'Dogville' is actually…quite possibly my favorite film ever made (well, you know, that I've seen). Kind of sucks for Bettany that he won't watch the best thing he's been in and most probably ever will be in.

Dogville is by far my least favorite Von Trier, the only movie of his where the criticisms people routinely throw at him really make sense to me. The ending is kind of amazing though
