Also, I still maintain that The Dark Knight was deserving of a Best Picture nomination in 2008 (albeit it was a weak year). But I don't feel that Dark Knight Rises deserves a pity nomination. It was good, but too bloated and not as consistent as its predecessor.

Master isn't his best movie but he is still one of the best two or three directors in this country right now and I feel like he deserves the recognition. So no mention of Ginger & Rosa? You guys were backing that one for a while. As far as outside chances go I'd prefer to see that one go the distance over Beasts or Moonrise. I'd settle for a Silver Linings win though.
