You people are either unknowledgeable regarding film or outright dolts. I've seen most of the nominated films and American Hustle is still my favorite. I've liked them all, but I can honestly say that AH was my favorite. It was fun, tense, sexy….basically all of the things you want out of a movie-going experience. Easily the best ten bucks I've spent this year.

I thought Rush was the best movie from last year, thats just me though. Gravity was good, 12 years was good, I didn't really like American Hustle or Dallas Buyers club. Captain Phillips was good, but Rush was better than all of them hands down.

Cannot believe the response to American Hustle, let alone it being talked about beside films like Gravity and 12 Years a Slave.
If we NEED to have a third front-runner (even though I'm certain it is wholly Gravity vs. 12 Years) what about The Wolf of Wallstreet? Superior to AH by far.

What I don't understand is why in the last two years of Oscars, the David O. Russell film is always the possible big upset of the nominees? None of them have or had a chance at all.
Silver Linings Playbook (which was a very good film) had no chance against any of last years nominees, and American Hustle (which was disappointing) has no business being a nominee as one of the year's best films.

It's very strange that American Hustle has a chance at this. Doesn't the Academy like to be entertained? How could they give an award to the least engaging, most boring film of the nine nominees?

Confused as to why American Hustle is even still in the discussion. Seems pretty clear it's Gravity or 12 Years a Slave. And don't give me that SAG Ensemble win crap–it had a big flashy cast of movie stars. And since then, the backlash has been loud and clear. This is a two-horse race.
