Inclusion Rider is just another way of saying Affirmative Action or Race Quotas. You want specific percents of X, Y, and Z because they are X, Y, and Z.

It will always be a terrible idea that goes against the very moral underpinning of any liberal society, that we judge people as individuals, not as part of some class or race or gender!

Black Panther was a good movie, Black Panther had almost NO Diversity. Black Panther would not have survived an Inclusion Rider. They would have had to diversify the isolationist African country with Whites and Asians and Hispanics. How well would that have worked?

Or would inclusion riders only count if they are used to reduce the number of straight white males? And if that is the case, shouldn't they be exclusion riders!

Your political commentary on this is soooo fucking tired. The Oscars have not got it right for years! They are an outmoded, jaded, hollow and now so very faux political excuse for Aristos, it is actually sickening.

I don't believe that Cannes, Venice, and Berlin award artists based on any political agenda whatsoever. And yet, the Oscars have become just that. A zeitgeist movement for plebs.

The real discussion should be why isn't the Academy actually giving out awards to the best films? All the films this year, bar 'Phantom Thread' and 'CMBYN' are simply awful. Get a fucking grip.

The moment I took Frances McDormand seriously was when I realized all the black people that were in the movie Fargo with her, and then thought about how other than Fargo, her husband has never made another film where the main character was a woman. In fact, there was an article last year about diversity where they said they write what they know (which is Jews and Minnesotans) and only expected other people to do the same.
