On what basis is Spotlight Best Picture? The characters were all thin, its real drama resided in the past, the actors were all fine but no stretch for any of them and the direction and production values were all average. Sure, the screenplays for both Mad Max and The Revenant were also rather thin but as achievements in filmmaking they were both spectacular. Methinks handing the Oscar to Spotlight simply made the Academy\’s white middle-class voters feel virtuous about supporting a film about sexual abuse. Props for trying to highlight such a horrendous issue but the original articles from The Boston Globe were far more powerful and moving than this tepid feature offering. Such a shame.

This is was outrageous. How come a silly movie unable to deliver any emotion on though such a sensitive topic as Spotlight could steal the crown from two of the most inspirational films over the last decade ?
Hollywood just sent a message to the people out there in the world : Be lazy and opportunistic. Work for the industry, not for Art.
Forget about creativity, think "efficiency". You will be rewarded for your lack of effort…

That ultra bland theme from SPECTRE won best original song. Seems oddly fitting, since there\’s hardly a whiter theme song outside of that Horst Wessel anthem written for the Nazi party.
