By the sounds of it, the use of multiple media sources such as texts and Skype conversations is quite an elegant way of getting round the whole 'why is the camera still on?' or 'why did the person keep filming when all of this danger was going on around them?' type credibility problems that beset the 'found footage' genre…I hope it works!

Quite apart from the fact that Barry Levinson is an Oscar winning director, he has always been pretty versitile and attempted different genres. He may have been uneven but when he's great he's pretty great.

Sounds good. What distinguishes it from a film like Contagion or Jaws, neither which I'd categorize as horror films? Is is that Levinson focuses on the "alien-esque" outcome of the infection rather than the science of detection & investigation?
