It would be sad and disappointing if he doesn’t.
Everyone is ready to give up on him. He has alienated his fanbase for years and has seemingly gone out of his way to make lousy children’s movies, with only the occasional adult film once in a while.

Purely awesome. The only hesitation would be because of all the crappy movies he does lately but this would be the perfect way for him to \”comeback\” to the limelight. He was not only a gifted comedian in the \’80s but an incredible showman. I\’m sure he\’s mellowed out since those days too and he\’s more family-friendly now than Chris Rock was when he hosted the Oscars. I think this would work out very well unless he\’s completely lost his showmanship, which I doubt.

Anne Hathaway actually received mostly decent reviews when she hosted the Oscars- of course the awful James Franco\’s reviews were the polar opposite.
