here in germany, this \’extented version\’ already was shown in tv. i know the books and i have to say that these 9 hours are rather closed to the books. i regret nevertheless that from the two main chararcters the male one (mikael) is not shown as in the book. even 9 hours aren\’t enough to show the complexitivity of these two protagonists – lisbeth and mikael.

While this IS good news, I think it should have been called \”Millennium Trilogy: Extended Edition\”, so it doesn\’t look like crappy merchandise for the new hollywood movie.

Sounds good. I thought the first Swedish film worked well enough and the direction was surprisingly stylish. However the second one, by a different director, felt incoherent. It was painfully obvious that it was chopped down from a longer version. I never even saw the third one, deciding to wait for those longer versions. Looking forward to this, and to Fincher\’s interpretation.

Oh this is good news, as the movies kinda stank and did feel like they were made for TV. The sequels were particularly bad and seemed to have gaping holes in the plots and missing some of the more interesting sub plots of the books. Anyway will I watch again? Probably not
