Nothing is set in stone. IF something is going to happen, yea, there\’s a decent chance it will go down at comic-con. But Civil War was supposed to be announced then and they couldnt sort that in time.

Sony has every reason to lie, and has done so many times about Spiderman related things (like the Aunt May movie that was in discussion, albeit just early talks). Your hypotheticals are silly because they are not really the issues on the table. The question isn\’t whether Sony is just going to give up Spiderman. It\’s if he would join Marvel Studio films and then how that would affect the Sony produced solo films.

I\’m normally not one for conspiracy stuff but in this instance I\’m no less inclined to take Sony\’s word at face value than I am to take the original rumor at face value. Sony would certainly want to (in fact, needs to, with all their recent negative publicity) announce this news on their own terms. Of course they would deny it right now.
