If someone else was writing it he might have a chance, after Donnie Darko Kelly got way too confident in himself & no one can rein in the crazy. Darko worked because it had some great elements (the intrigue, the look, the performances, the nostalgia and comedy) & someone else edited it all to work together. His cut shows how out of touch he is with cinema.

Richard Kelly is an interesting director. A shitty one, but an interesting one.
