Haha, um, no, this is not an Oscar contender. Maybe for sound design or something. It nails the sound of bones breaking. Or perhaps if there is a special sarcastic 'Best Texan Accent' award for Wahlberg. The combat scenes are effective but 'surreal'? I am not sure Wells knows what he is talking about.

Read the book. He did all he could to survive and he was mighty lucky.
