Don't get me wrong, that sounds brilliant, and the way it should be done, but I don't get the constant knocking of Princes of Thieves, especially when talking about the action. For a PG-13 film, it contains alot of violent stuff. From multiple arrows to the head, to hands getting cut off, lots of stabbings and slicings (some down right cruel like when the Sheriff kills his cousin), and one of the best sword fights at the end of it. Yea, it's not as bloody as Braveheart, but it definately did more than they would have today and when you compare it to the likes of First Knight or King Arthur etc. In fact, I was one who didn't think Gladiator was NEAR as violent as it should've been.
