@BEF: The person who didn\’t get the memo is the person who wrote the contract for Viola Davis. Everything from billing order, prominence, position, font size (relative to the title as well as other performers), image size (relative to other performers), image postition, and (most certainly) billing position relative to the title are spelled out quite specifically prior to production. The creatives do what they can after satisfying all of those requirements, and then it\’s sent to legal where it is confirmed that the contract requirements of all parties have been satisfied.

You can\’t just wing it based on your personal taste. You can\’t scrub Mark Ruffalo from the poster or stick a tiny picture of him in the corner in order to make Channing Tatum more prominent,for example. You have to follow the contracts (contracts probably written about 2 years ago) even if it results in a very boring poster or a lost marketing opportunity.

Hemsworth needs to stick to the fantasy, sci fi movies, he\’s popular there and can bring an audience. He just isn\’t cutting it in these other films he\’s choosing to do. I wanted to like him in Rush, but he was just nothing special. I\’m looking forward to him in The Hunstman though. He can carry a fantasy/action/adventure franchise, and look good doing it.

Who came up with that Ex Machina tag line? Nothing more human than the will to survive? Every creature on the planet is driven by the will to survive! Either as an individual organism or at least as a species. I hope there\’s something more human than the will to survive….
