Enthusiasm for Marvel properties on TV is usually never low, despite how middling their shows can get. ABC’s “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D,” isn’t good, but it’s still on the air. “Agent Carter” is/was a great character and everyone loves Hayley Atwell, but sorry, it was pretty unwatchable. Netflix shows for Marvel can be really sketchy too (“Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist”), but fans seem to love them nonetheless. But ABC and Marvel finally have a big problem on their hands with the “Inhumans” and it may be too late to fix.
“Inhumans” thus far has been met with a lot of skepticism and suspicious, but the new Comic Con trailer from San Diego premiered tonight and the reactions are pretty damning.
iO9 described the trailer as “meh.”
Eric Vespe from geek-friendly site Ain’t It Cool News ripped the trailer to shreds.
Saw the Inhumans trailer at the IMAX tonight. I say this as a big Marvel fan: that show looks laughably, outrageously, aggressively awful. pic.twitter.com/3JVxflBYmg

And the reactions so far are not kind.

That was a damn fine #Inhumans trailer! Restored my faith in the show and that maybe they'll do my favorite characters justice.

Inhumans trailers from #SDCC is way better than the teaser. But this show still looks 90's SYFY bad: https://t.co/VnT8dZGb8j

You can't fool me with your cool trailer music, Inhumans, you still look bad, but at least women speak a bit and Medusa's shitty hair moves.

Marvel’s Jeff Loeb was joined onstage by cast members Anson Mount, Iwan Rheon, Serinda Swan, Eme Ikwuakor, Isabelle Cornish, Ken Leung, Ellen Woglom, Sonya Balmores and Mike Moh, director Roel Reine and showrunner Scott Buck tonight at Comic Con to unveil the new trailer.
“The Inhumans” is essentially a super hero tale of a Royal Family. Here’s the official synopsis, because I’m not explaining this shit.

Marvel’s Inhumans explores the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family including Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city. After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where they are greeted with surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them. Now they must find a way to reunite with each other and return to their home before their way of life is destroyed forever.
“Marvel’s Inhumans” debut’s September 1 on IMAX screens and it’ll be the first live-action show to have done so. Its theatrical run is scheduled for two weeks prior to the series’ September 29 premiere on ABC. But if fan response is any indication so far, those IMAX ticket sales could be extremely soft. At least the reactions sound a little better than they did the last time a trailer was released. A few new posters below as well.
