It's pretty good and definitely is best to date. The writing is messy indeed, but contains a hole bunch of great tirades. Plus the soundtrack is amazing. Plus S. ClÃ©ment <3

I was kinda hoping that IFC might come to rescue. I remember them picking up Enter the Void which is also more than 2 and a half hours. Plus Dolan is not a first time director, his name is quite well-known amongst art-house/foreign films watchers. I just can't wait for this to arrive here so I can watch it.

Sometimes I wonder what you people are on. Laurence is actually the least interesting character in the film, most of the time I found myself drawn to Suzanne Clement's character. The movie should have been about her; her performance, her story are a miles away from everything else in the film, including the writing. The film suffers greatly as a result. By what feels like the 100th musical montage in the film, you are left exhausted, and not in a good way. The film is overlong and repetitive. There is some good here, including many of the supporting performances, but I can't help but feel like I was watching a film in need of a few good re-writes. They certainly would have helped.

Could not agree more Xavier Donlon is an outstanding young director…I hope that this movie gets out there for everyone to see.
