Bale said in some interview that he only shot for like 4 days on the Austin movie, so I think him being cut is a very distinct possibility.

This was not shown to potential distributor, but this Sorrento event is one of the annual meeting in Italy where distributors showcase their slate to the press. It was shown to the press (I am not sure Malick, Basner(FilmNation) and Kao (Waypoint) are happy about this initiative )

well this particular event usually features a number of panels held by distributors to show upcoming releases (either full films or previews) to major theater (chains) owners, not to look for distributors. So this probably means both films already have an italian distributor, and will definitely be released some time in 2015

Cannes festival\’s new president, P. Lescure, was a producer of Che when Malick was suppposed to direct it. Then Malick dropped out of the project. I don\’t know if Malick will be invited in Cannes if Lescure and him are not in good terms… Unless it\’s not the case…

I saw Malick and Bale at ACL Festival (large music festival). I would assume that music plays at least some part of the Knight of Cups, unless the scene/storyline is scrapped.
