Sense8 feels like an important show, cause it defies expectations, and dares to be driven so boldly by its vision it doesn\'t even contemplate tastefulness. Film feels like it\'s become so uptight about its aesthetic, really restrained and so policed to keep within it\'s boundaries that it can hardly breathe, and it\'s not even like this results in film feeling more like life, more the opposite, especially around representation - despite (or because of?) all those restraints we constantly accept and often praise films that claim to represent modern life but give no more than 30 seconds of screen time to minorities. Meanwhile television\'s literally sprawling all over those narrative restraints and cause of its direct route to audiences the snobbish restrictions don\'t count. I think Sense8 is brilliant and unsophisticated, compelling and awkward, even when I had a raised eyebrow I was absorbed. I really think the Wachowskis outlandish style of genius has been maligned by the movies, and that god created sprawling television for unconventional artists to push the narrative boat out.

The Wachowskis directing seven episodes is just a contractual thing. If you go to Wikpiedia, you can see a description of who directed what. The multiple directors divided up the locations, and each shot everything in their city. The Wachowskis didn\'t actually direct seven whole episodes.
