I think Anson Mount from Hell on Wheels would play an excellent Roland. As I read throughout the series, the entire time Roland was Anson Mount in my mind. He has the acting chops, the look, and I think can play the role of Roland perfectly!!! I really wish they would consider Timothy Olyphant to play the role as Roland. He proved he could play the role of Roland in such shows as Deadwood and Justified.

Somethings should just never be done, this is one of them. To try to put the Dark Tower on film would be a mistake and could never compare or even slightly do justice to the source. The last time they talked about it they were casting Russel Crowe as Roland which is a travesty. As a die hard Tower Junkie I will avoid the film or TV series as if it were the plague.

No, no, nopety-nope. Nothing could possibly do this opus justice. Louie Malle couldn't do this. Orsen Welles couldn't pull this off successfully. I wouldn't watch if you paid me, wouldn't dare risk the horrible, beautiful images this story gave my imagination, but to even suggest Russell Crowe as Roland of Gilead is an absurdity. I hope this malignacy dies quickly and quietly.
