I would now venture a guess that "Agents of SHIELD" was just a pilot project to prove to Netflix that they could capture the male age 18-49 TV market. Now that they proved it, they can get better deals for well known character properties. It also suggests the reason why the "SHIELD" TV show has only been getting junk Marvel Universe characters so far.

They could make a really fantastic Daredevil series if they tapped properly into the gritty, 70s cinema vibe of the Miller stories….won't hold my breath, though.
