Richard Gere makes perfect sense as Murray (the graying journo-intellectual "humanitarian"), Keira Knightly makes sense as Marina (who is described as the flawless beauty that everyone is drawn to), and Eric Bana will of course be Ludovic (the ambitious Australian asshole). I could see Michelle Williams as Danielle — Marina's "plain" friend, who has an affair with Murray.

Julius is gay and half asian, and Bootie is a slightly overweight, awkward teenager with a crush on Danielle (and maybe Marina).

The book didn't blow me away. It'll be interesting to see how Baumbach approaches it, but I'm not as excited for this as I am for his original screenplays.
