When your writer says "The movie’s also gained unprecedented cultural agency…", I think he means "relevance". "Agency" means the ability to act independently, which makes no sense here.

i never understood the criticism of using modern tech (digital) to shoot a period piece. public enemies was visually stunning, it was the screenplay that was poorly made. from the trailers, i sense blackhat might have the same problem. miami vice, on the other hand, was bogged down by the lack of chemistry of the two leads. great movie, though. can\’t wait to see blackhat. hope it\’s up to par.
