I am so excited for this film.. in your recent podcast you talked about it being an endurance test and spoke about Shame being something of the same, which I can agree with to a certain extent, but I think it's time for people to really be submerged into this slave/master culture.. to see the cruelty (unimaginable) and just the sense of the day-to-day of the plantation life. To think of Epps as loving Patsy (as Fassbender said above) is horrifying to me.. horrifying more for the truth it contains than the absurdity of the statement. The way these things manifest, especially in teh context of absolute power and control, affects me deeply. I can't wait to see this film and I appreciate your all's thoughtful discussions on it!

12 Years A Slave is a brilliant film and Michael Fassbender is excellent as Eppes. I believe he will Best Supporting Actor.
