Was this news that important that the studio or whoever just had to release it on the same day Mia's film premiered? Classless move.

Not really a great change. Wasikowska is no more perfect than Mara is going to be. They're very alike to me. As long as they don't lose Blanchett or Haynes this movie is still gold.

Why Wasikowska would drop out of this plum part is beyond me. Maybe better things in store for her, but dropping out of this is not wise.

Hmm, the time this is taking to get into production I would think further changes will be on the way. Hope it's won't be Cate Blanchett going but you never know.
Not a good move losing Wasikowska, she was touted as being part of the 'perfect' casting and for many, she was. Additionally she herself said she was thrilled to be working with Blanchett…..I don't know, fingers crossed.

Why would Mia drop out of a possible Oscar contender (and Cate) for a movie that's so up in the air like Crimson Peak, in which two actors have left? I just don't get it.

My interest in seeing this just went out the window with Mara on board.

I'm VERY upset about this. What would drive Mia to give up the chance of working with Cate?
