Remember how Warner Bros. Discovery isn’t afraid of licensing out its biggest IP to the highest bidder? Well, that means films like the animated “Merry Little Batman” aren’t coming to Max. Instead, it’s coming to Prime Video just in time for the holiday season. Who would have thought a new Batman animation would land on an Amazon streaming service?
As seen in the new trailer for “Merry Little Batman,” the film follows the story of Batman’s young son, Damian Wayne, as he is desperately trying to prove to his father that he is ready to become a superhero. And when Batman finds himself out of Gotham City during a massive crime spree featuring the Caped Crusader’s biggest villains, young Damian has to suit up as tiny Batman to take them down. As you have probably guessed, this is a film aimed directly at young children. So, if you’re hoping for a serious take on the subject matter, you’re barking up the wrong tree here, friends.
The film stars Luke Wilson, Yonas Kibreab, James Cromwell, and David Hornsby. “Merry Little Batman” is directed by Mike Roth, who is probably best known for his work on “Regular Show” and “Phineas and Ferb.”
“Merry Little Batman” hits Prime Video on December 8. You can watch the trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
This Christmas, Damian Wayne wants to be a superhero like his dad—the one and only Batman. When Damian is left home alone while Batman takes on Gotham’s worst supervillains on Christmas Eve, he stumbles upon a villainous plot to steal Christmas and leaps at the chance to save the day.
