If ever there was a case of Hollywood Nepotism and upward failure, it’s epitomized by the career of Max Landis. The fact that great indie screenwriters struggle to finance films that usually end up making waves at the major festivals, while Max Landis is paid exorbitant amounts of money for refried shit is indicative of why Studio films literally have to rely on franchises. Whoever paid Max Landis 2 million for the “Bright” script should be sent adrift from the land of decision making. Studios, I beg of you, as a cinema goer, do all us film lovers a favor, and put your money into original thought. Stop paying hack screenwriters for big budget, low substance pishy-kaka.
