Well to be fair, he was set to direct First Class before WB held him to making Jack the Giant Killer; and Vaughn had originally signed to replace Singer for X3 before bailing. Their intertwined replacement history is entertainingly convoluted at this point.

"He's still the most beloved helmer of the any pictures in the franchise" I was going to post this correction: "he's still the most beloved helmer of any pictures in the franchise". However, despite the obvious error, th sentence is awkwardly worded, too. It should be "he's still directed the most beloved picture in the franchise."
