Marvel’s ‘Loki’ Season 2 Returns To Disney+ On October 6 & Entire Season Of ‘Echo’ Drops November 29

Finally, a little bit of clarity from Marvel Studios when it comes to their lineup of 2023 shows on Disney+. After a heap of back-and-forth rumblings, it’s been officially announced that following Marvel’s event limited series “Secret Invasion” debuting on the streaming service on June 21, “Loki” and “Echo” are now confirmed for the fall.

October 6 is the release date for “Loki” season two on Disney+, and instead of trickling out episodes every week with “Echo,” their entire season drops on November 29. The latter would be the first time that a major Marvel show is being dropped in a similar model to Netflix; perhaps, more shows down the road will be released in a similar manner.

“Loki” ended on the cliffhanger revealing that He Who Remains, a Kang The Conqueror variant, was really the puppet master behind the TVA and left our protagonist seemingly back to square one. However, teaser footage and set photos would suggest that doesn’t last too long. Given the current legal issues with MCU actor Jonathan Majors, it’s unclear how Marvel ultimately navigates Kang in future projects like “Loki” (where he’s expected to make a return) and has a larger presence with a big event film like Destin Daniel Cretton‘s “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”

“Echo” is a spinoff of “Hawkeye” with it focusing on Kingpin’s adopted daughter Maya Lopez having her own adventures this time around. Lopez, not unlike Matt Murdock has exceptional fighting abilities while overcoming a sensory disability, in her case being deaf. The character is said to be also appearing in “Daredevil: Born Again” and could continue to show up in other streel-level projects from Marvel if audiences keep embracing Echo.

Other MCU shows that are shooting or about to gear-up include “Daredevil: Born Again,” “Agatha: Coven of Chaos,” “Wonder Man,” and “Vision Quest.” While a series like “Ironheart” is likely in the post-production stage, the backed-up VFX pipeline and WGA strike (many of the writers are already picketing) with more industry strikes expected could see further delays on when these other shows are released in 2024-2025. Although, we do expect some sort of new lineup announcement this summer from Marvel at San Diego Comic-Con in July or some minor updates on their existing slate of shows/movies.
