The quick turnaround shoot that is. Scorsese…..likes to….. take….. his….. t….. time. And it’s always worth it. He spent like six months on the VINYL pilot alone. He spent over a full year editing SILENCE.

Maybe this could shoot late next year for a 2019 release but Scorsese likes to be super involved in the edit. Surprised though to see this has quickly overtaken “The Devil in the White City” as Scorsese’s next NEXT project.

I wonder if he’s at least considering switching up his normal production schedule a bit to try and get more projects under his belt while he can, maybe being less hands-on with certain day-to-day elements of post-production so he can effectively be shooting and cutting two movies at once. He’s done this in the past, alternating between narrative films and documentaries–doing it with two fiction films would be new for him, but may make sense given his priorities.
