Marky Mark told Norwegian newspaper VG (http://www.vg.no/rampelys/artikkel.php?artid=10052674) that "I have met [Tyldum] in Los Angeles, and he is a huge talent. A super smart guy. (…) I hope to remake it and I'm working to get the same filmmaker who made the Norwegian film, to direct it – with me as actor and producer."

Wahlberg says he was pissed at his agent when he learned that another studio already had the rights: "I called the studio, and told them that I had met the director (Tyldum) and asked if I could make it. I said: "Please, I have to make this movie." And the boss there said he would consider it."
