Got a Tip?

Mark Wahlberg In Talks To Take Over For Chris Evans In Antoine Fuqua’s Thriller ‘Infinite’

Antoine Fuqua is finishing up pre-production on his upcoming film “Infinite.” However, it appears that he’s losing the star of his film and has to somehow find someone to fill the shoes of Captain America.

Variety is reporting that Chris Evans has left the production of “Infinite,” due to scheduling conflicts. And in his place, Fuqua is looking at casting Mark Wahlberg as the new lead.

“Infinite” tells the story of a group of people with the ability to recall every aspect of their previous lives with a perfect memory. The film follows a young man that is struggling with visions from a previous life and finds himself intertwined with this underground group. The film is based on D. Eric Maikranz’s novel “The Reincarnationist Papers.”

Wahlberg was most recently seen in the film’s “Mile 22” and “Instant Family,” with the latter being a fairly nice sized hit for him in 2018. This year, his latest film with director Peter Berg, titled “Wonderland,” is expected to be released. And in 2020, he’s got the drama “Good Joe Bell” on the docket. This doesn’t take into consideration the numerous projects that he’s currently in development on. It’s pretty funny that Evans, who is coming off his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, had to leave due to scheduling conflicts when Wahlberg is somehow able to cram about a dozen films in one year.

As mentioned, the film comes from director Antoine Fuqua, who is coming off the release of his film “The Equalizer 2.” “Infinite” is being adapted from the novel by screenwriter Ian Shorr.

No official release date has been given for “Infinite” but production is expected to begin on the film sometime this fall. So, a 2020 release is most likely.
