OK SO where are these endless buddy and horror flicks you speak of? They were the Marvel/DC movies of the 1980s and now you may get one or two a year! That’s what’s going to happen to Superhero movies one day. There used to be 100 Westerns every year and you still see them every so often, but they are not the MAIN movies that are made any more.
Basically, you are completely agreeing with his point.

I hear that, but he and others that are complaining about superhero movies for whatever reason have never complained about much worse movies that get made over and over. If they did, my bad, obviously these comments get more publicity then ones made about lesser films, but I’ve yet to read about him or Spielberg disliking Chips or Resident Evils of the movie world.

To be fair, Hamill never defended endless random buddy comedies and horror flicks. I think it’s unfair to assume that simply because he voiced an opinion about one genre, he automatically has no criticisms of any other genres.

I was skeptical going into this article too — “Oh great, another old guy complaining about the way things are going these days” — but I think his quote here is pretty reasonable. He says superhero movies are fantastic and he wants better stories. I agree.
