I don\’t know that you\’d have to do a French accent just because your character is French-Canadian descent. But, if that\’s the case – Pitt said he\’s speaking a lot of French in the film he and Jolie made last year that\’s coming out in November – By The Sea. And they live part-time in France and run a business there, so hopefully his French accent is better than that God-awful Irish accent. However – I can\’t see them doing the movie with both characters speaking in heavy French accents. Who\’s going to want to watch that? Not me – and I generally love Brad Pitt movies.

Not sure why you\’re criticizing Pitt\’s Belfast accent in The Devil\’s Own. I saw an article once where they showed a bunch of films with fake Irish accents to real irish people, and they all voted Pitt\’s Ulster accent as one of the most accurate.

A French-Canadian accent is not an easy one to pull off. The last American actor to nail one was Holmes Osborne in "Affliction." I like Brad Pitt but if his Irish accent in "The Devil\’s Own" is any indication, this casting worries me. Of course, Marion Cotillard is watchable in anything.

Wow, Marion\’s worldwide domination really knows no boundaries anymore. We just saw her being nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for the latest Dardennes film, now prepare to see her as Lady Macbeth at the end of the year next to Michael Fassbender while she\’s shooting Xavier Dolan\’s next project before getting to shoot Assassin\’s Creed and now this? Seriously, this lady probably has the greatest resume of any actress of her generation at his point and her innate ability to jump from arthouse projects (foreign and not) to commercial juggernauts feels almost surreal. She just shows anyone how it\’s done. Go, Marion!
