I've grown to appreciate Quantum a lot more over time. It's admittedly quite messy in places, and the script problems show. But Craig's performance as a quietly wounded, revenge-driven Bond is so excellent that it grounds the whole film. There are also some stellar set pieces, especially the opening car chase, the final hotel battle and the opera scene (though Forster does over-edit them). Visually the film is also gorgeous, and has an aesthetic that's a beautiful mix of sand, glass and fire. For me, the Craig era films have been consistently rewarding - Quantum and Spectre are certainly messy, but they get so much right that I think it's unfair to discount them.

Plus, the theme song - which most people also hate - is spectacular, in my opinion.
