Could you imagine him in a trippy, nostalgically psychedelic cross between “2001”, “A Clockwork Orange”, “Dark Star”, “Stalker”, “Don’t look now”, “The man who fell to earth”, “The Shining”, “Begotten”, “Videodrome”, and “The Holy Mountain”, all done in glacial slo-mo and with a Tangerine Dream/early John Carpenter soundtrack on steroids? Because that’s pretty much what Cosmatos’s debut film “Beyond the Black Rainbow” was, and many of the reviews are saying that his next film “Mandy” is a lot like it as Cosmatos’s trademark style.
