That’s just absurd. and a major reason why people go to grabbing sceners off the Internet. If someone wants to only release a movie in 2 theatres just so it can qualify for an Oscar run, it should be available day and date on VOD.

Agree with you. Rude people blabbing the entire movie and ignoring the no cell phone policy…has finally made me stop going. Theatres really need to monitor the audience and tell people shut up or leave.

So it probably amount to slightly more people watching it before the oscars. The dying cinemas never went that way because of piracy IMO. The dying cinemas struggle because of the culture surrounding it. High prices, ads, noisy people and most of all, great TV.
