– reshoots were always scheduled for the spring, but got bumped to summer

development and all take place [as inserts] within scenes we’ve already
shot.”

would not be finishing in August,” a source on the production says.

– one of the main reasons the reshoots will take so long is to accommodate the ensemble cast’s schedules
– Chris McQuarrie did do some work on the shooting script, but is not involved in the reshoots
– Tony Gilroy (who did uncredited rewrites on Godzilla) brought on board to offer notes on the rough cut and write additional material
– Gilroy will be directing 2nd unit
– there were no test screenings for the film and likely will never be for any Star Wars movie
