Mank got a bad rap because of Lyons oxygen/intelligence-sucking personality. Maybe Mank's personality wasn't to your taste, but he hosts TCM stuff when Robert Osbourne is busy and does a good job.

He's related to the great Joseph L. Mankiewicz (grand nephew i believe), and I think he's lived in that shadow long enough to know that if he's going to appear on TV talking about something he's going to know about it.

Or at least he comes off as he does and not like an idiot (i get there are queue cards for everyone, but all the folks at TCM seem to be genuine movie fanatics).

So glad to hear of the replacements for At the Movies. I actually watched Ebert and Roeper regularly (even when Ebert wasn't on it), but ever since it went off the air, I haven't followed At the Movie at all. I caught an episode here and there, but can't stand Lyons! Mank was alright I guess, but put anyone across from that hack Lyons and you're bound to hate them both. Scott and Phillips were actually my two favorite filler critics on Roeper when Ebert wasn't doing it, so I'll prolly start watching again.
