I wish that DiCaprio'd try a less intense character in a lower budget movie during this break. What about a Terrence Malick movie? It seems that actors are just having good time at Malick's set. Work can be draining, but it also can be recharging and refreshing sometimes.

Hopefully, in this long break Scorsese would make as many movies as he can; although a good actor, DiCaprio doesn't has the personality for being the lead in most of his films.

I think its funny he says he's "drained" & "worn out" after completing 3 films in 2 years when you have an actor like Danny Trejo who has 18 films slated for 2013 and worked on 11 films, 2 TV series & one video game in 2012.

Granted Danny's movies are smaller roles, smaller budgets, ect, but it's still amusing to see an 'A-Lister' succumb to exhaustion after three films while a real 'working' actor just keeps trudging along.

Waow, some of you guys like to give cheap shots, hugh ? The guy is one of the greatest american actors nowadays, he looks nice, he is very involved in his movies, he's got this exotic aura, this vulnerability and this intensity that make him very unique. I love him a lot personally.

About the "fly" : what do you expect him to take to travel around the world ? Train ? Come on you guys, don't be silly. Boats ? I guess those give a lot of pollution in the seas, as planes do in the sky (maybe not as much but still), and knowing Leo, they would hurt icebergs, hahaha!

I respect his decision, but I gonna miss him a lot ! I'm european, and we, in Europe, seem to appreciate him a bit more than you, no ? Don't take it bad, just saying !

This guy's career is quiet remarkable. Like Jodie Foster he's one of the lucky ones to have made it through childhood to adulthood seemingly quiet smoothly. Props to him, I forget about This Boy's Life or What's eating Gilbert Grape, Basketball Diaries all before the Romeo and Juliet and Titanic lobbed him into super superstardom, and barring the girls he dates appearing in the press I hardly see him anywhere but in another decent movie.

Did anyone see the show on HGTV that had a tour of his trailor for the set of Inception? It was a full semi trailor that had an Italian marble shower and a kitchen for his private chef. It would seem that if he were really concerned about "doing good for the environment" he'd learn to use a shower made from local California stone and eat food prepared for the rest of the crew, rather than paying to have stone hauled halfway across the world and have his chef commute every day just to prepare his meals (only 1 bedroom in the trailor), rather than indulging his expensive tastes. So many of these self-righteous celebrities tell we mere mortals how we "should" live while blowing more money than we'll earn in a decade or a lifetime on frivolities. It's sickeningly hypocritical or elitist, depending on how they rationalize it within themselves, and either way wholly unsavory and disrespectable.
