British directors seem very keen in displaying their kings and prime ministers in a very good light…The Kings Speech and being very accurate but when it comes to American History or persons they are just happy to point out all the bad and not really portray things accurately…after all, it is only an American president, icon, or genius. Why would they care about taking creative lisence on the USA? Let\’s not forget how nicely Hawkings was portrayed when he caused his wife so much suffering with adultery,etc.

I\’d find it pretty funny if DiCaprio lost out on the Oscar again to Michael Fassbender. DiCaprio\’s great, but I find the Leonardo DiCaprio Gets Snubbed By Oscar meme to be pretty funny

@lulu i doubt it reduces him to smart jerk. Just look at Social Network, how people were talking about hiw the film shows Zuckerberg. I havent seen this yet but it seems theyvare very similar and sorkin is a great writer and I doubt the film just shows him as smart and a jerk, no less being played by fassbender

That\’s tricky territory, not sure I stand in the film makers camp. I mean the summation is basically the guy was a very smart jerk? Job\’s widow has every right to be pissed at the complex man she loved being reduced for the sake of entertainment, and prestige. Sorkin himself comes off as a bit of a jerk when he justifies one moral failing with another, maybe he should write an autobiographical piece about his own bull***t. I do agree with A.O Scott, but if we\’re just hanging an allegory on someone, it doesn\’t really matter which historical figure a film maker uses, so maybe it would feel less tacky if the body wasn\’t still warm.
