As a matter of fact, yes I do think "Stairway to Heaven" is too long! And old! But that's just me. Luckily I write the blog.

TY for the correction - and, dear Anon, if you can supply a link to more info on The Song Remains the Same re-issue then we'd all be thrilled to hear it.

I'm more focused on the holiday nugget-sized buying potential for parental units of Mothership.

A couple of corrections to inaccuracies in this blog: it's Page, no "I" - not Paige.

Also, one part of the Led Zeppelin DVD is a concert from 1970; there is also footage from concerts in 1975 and 1979, plus a bunch of cool extras.

Astrud, your statement "the Internet has destroyed my capability to sit still any longer than" 90 minutes says more about you than about that amazing DVD, which at five hours is not long enough! Bet you think "Stairway to Heaven" is overly long, too, don't you?

Finally, for a blog about music and movies, you missed the even better news about the updated release of the Zeppelin concert movie, The Song Remains the Same, to come out shortly after Mothership. That's the true upcoming prize!

Awesome Bobby, then you enjoy watching the five and a half hours long original DVD.

It's not going on this critic's list. 90 minutes is plenty, but we could get the gist in 20.

‘Never have to sit through’??? I think you just insulted about a billion Zep fans around the world. That is the number of hits that the web site for tickets received. You must not realize that for a band as massively popular as Zep, they released precious little video material over the last 30 years. This Led Zeppelin DVD, released in 2003, all five hours of it, instantly became the best selling music dvd of all time, and remained the #1 selling music dvd in the U.S. for 3-years, now standing at 20x platinum. On virtually every critic’s list in the world, this looooong awaited Zeppelin dvd, that you made sound like a burden, is the finest performance video ever made.
