Nope just frontrunners. And yes many do fade way – “Sully” should for instance – but “La La Land,” “Manchester” and “Moonlight” will not.

Saw Elle in Cannes which I adore. It was not at Telluride. Catching Things To Come tomorrow night.

He wrote that they were, in his opinion, the frontrunners of all films that have been viewed in festivals up to this point. He didn’t say they would win in the end. Again it is just his opinion.

Geez can we wait til other films are screened before critics prematurely deem Oscar noms/winners? I thought based on early praise for Amy Adams’ linguist she was the odds on favorite to snare her first win?

This September chatter reminds me of pre season football polls. As the year plays out early favorites drop and are replaced. I expect some of these pre critical favorites will be quickly forgotten/or fail to earn a nomination
