I call BS on this. One they sound more like Thin Lizzy than punk. Two they didnt record till 1974 and release till 1976 so they were of no influence thus they were irrelevent. There are plenty of unheard demos out there that may or may not prove someone else layed down punk tracks before someone else but that doesnt make them pioneers unless they were an influence in some way Death were not. I enjoy the music I have for the last 8 years when a friend gave me the songs from the 45 but even then I thought at best they sounded like Thin Lizzy. Its BS for you to try to discredit legends with an relatively unknown band. Rollins is right they have been able to churn out a good "rockumentary" but thats it they dont deserve recognition they were irrelevent. Now if you could prove that they played some show where all the guys from the Ramones were in attendance and started a band after said show they would be but as it stands its a far stetch to say they were pioneers. Who back then ever even heard them?? Nobody...
